High water flows and erosion have forced the Wyoming Game and Fish Department to temporarily close a portion of the access road at the popular Lusby Public Access Area to vehicular traffic.
Casper Region Habitat and Access Supervisor Matt Pollock said a 100-foot section of the access road washed away, causing a possible public safety issue. Therefore, the portion of the access road downstream of the main parking area is closed to vehicular traffic. However, the entire access area remains open to pedestrian travel within the bounds of the 100-foot easement.
